Insurance Questions

Recently a person had asked “If my Blue Cross Insurance Card says Sanford I can’t be seen here, right?” But that’s wrong. You can change your primary care provider or be seen here out of network.

At Oakes Community Hospital we participate with many local and national insurance plans. Currently we are in network for Blue Cross, Medicare, ND Medicaid, Tricare, Preferred One, Medica, Health Partners, Humana, Dakotacare, America’s PPO and United Payors.

When local employers inquire if we can become participating with their company insurance, we strive to accomplish this. Although we do not participate with Medicare Advantage Plans, we do accept the insurance plans and will process according to Medicare guidelines.

With the opening of Oakes Community Clinic & LaMoure Clinic, we have established our own group for Select Choice policies under Oakes Community Hospital. Selecting your choice of provider typically happens at this time of year during open enrollment.

Billing Inquiries

Medical bills can be confusing. If you would like help directly from the billing department for Oakes Community Hospital please call our Fargo billing office toll free at (877)212-8007. They will be able to provide you with helpful information, type of billing forms for liability insurances, and other medical billing information. Their phone system is automated so please listen for the prompts.

As always we will gladly take the time to visit with you here at the hospital in Oakes if you have questions concerning a statement or an insurance explanation of benefits.

We are able to take your payments locally at the hospital and can also process credit card payments over the phone by calling us at 701-742-3291.
