Dr. Rudy To Start at Lisbon Medical Center August 3
Lisbon Medical Center has hired a new family practitioner. Dr. Rudolf Loperena, who prefers to be called Dr. Rudy, will be filling the vacancy at the hospital left by the resignation of Dr. Sabir. Dr. Rudy will be starting August 3.
Dr. Rudy and his wife, Carol are currently moving out of their home in Fairbury, Nebraska, and are still looking for a place to live in Lisbon. They have taken transitory residence up at Fort Ransom State Park, camping out in their conversion van.
Dr. Rudy and Carol enjoy camping in their spare time along with walking, racquet sports, and, most of all, family. The couple has one daughter, Angie, who will be starting college this fall at Augustana in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Dr. Rudy was born in New York and grew up in Florida. He earned his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the College of medicine in West Berlin and completed his residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, in June of 1992. Dr. Rudy began private practice in Wagner, S.D. where he spent four years. He has spent the last two years practicing in Fairbury, Nebraska.
“We are both very excited about coming to Lisbon, “ said Dr. Rudy. “I am very impressed with the town and the quality of health care at the hospital. The concern for the patients and preventative health care at Lisbon Medical Center really impressed me.”
