Oakes Community Hospital is a not-for profit, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH), sponsored by Catholic Health Initiatives, providing selected health care services.  As a provider of community based, family oriented healthcare, Oakes Community Hospital believes it can best maintain this level of service through a customer focus, where we continually strive to understand and exceed the expectations of our customers.  This focus is enabled through effective communication systems, staff education, team building, process improvement, work redesign and an empowered work force.

Organizational leadership is defined as the board of directors, president/CEO, medical staff, administrative staff, and department managers.  These leaders are responsible to provide a framework for health care services based upon the organization’s mission and implementation of an effective planning process.  The planning process includes an assessment of our customer and community needs, defining the strategic plan, establishing annual operating and capital budgets and ongoing evaluation of each.

Emergency care is always available in our Level IV Trauma Emergency Department 24 hours per day-seven days per week.  Registered Nurses are on site at all times. Physicians, along with other support staff, are on site or on call to meet emergency needs.

In a non-emergency situation, visiting a physician on the medical staff at Oakes Community Hospital is the way to access other services available.  Oakes Community Hospital staff constantly strives to provide quality health care needs in a hometown setting.
